Danville -- Chatham

Thursday April 23, 2020

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Southside Virginia was long known as a premier tobacco growing area in Virginia. This tour features rustic tobacco barns, as well as chic and modern barn entertainment venues. The historic barns are filled with references to the area’s past while the Atkinson property features a restored cabin as well as a newly built lodge and barn. Located nearby, visitors will enjoy the Wood home and its relaxing gardens and fountains. A restoration site of the Garden Club of Virginia using funds from past Historic Garden Week tours, the Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History at the Sutherlin mansion will complement the theme of the tour with a tobacco exhibit that includes prints by a local artist.
