Visitors will enjoy this tour of four properties located southeast of Ashland. Union infantry and cavalry passed through Old Church toward Cold Harbor in 1864. This small crossroads became the focal point of one of the Civil War’s most dramatic and decisive engagements.
Tourgoers will travel Old Church Road through this storied landscape. The original church that gave the community its name was gone by 1861. Just to the east stands its replacement, Immanuel Church, built in 1853, which serves as Tour Headquarters.
